My name is Jake Daehler. I’m Carmen’s (Tech Co-Secretary) husband and Lennon’s father. He’s a recently-minted, Tech freshman. I’m your Rep on the Exec Board of LaGuardia’s Parents Association. My immediate and very wonderful predecessors in this position have both appropriately aged out and are currently serving the PA in different capacities. Their skills at culling calendars, websites and other newsletters to curate and present a comprehensive digest for your edification is worthy of legend and vastly exceeds my puny bag of tricks.
Luckily, the school website and Sunday night email wrap-up are comprehensive and simple enough for even a dinosaur like me to navigate. You’ll surely have no trouble at all. Accordingly, my monthly missives will bear little resemblance to what’s gone before. If you and I are anything alike, the last thing you want in your inbox is another—potentially redundant—email.
To that end, I’ll just be sending a monthly note to jolly you along and remind you that everything’s going to turn out just fine. (I can assure you because I have a modicum of authority on this point, also being the dad of two older kids, who survived LaGuardia and college and are currently managing adulthood fairly well.)
(After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.)
Please know that you can reach out to me anytime if you have concerns or ideas about how LaGuardia is serving your child. I'll answer what I can and take all other questions to the appropriate parties.
Try to stay fresh … at least through the end of June.
