Hello, LaGuardia Families!
The Parents Association's auction committee has been busily preparing for our Spring Auction & Gala, which will include an extensive auction, both online and in person. Please save the date, as the Gala will take place on June 6. We plan to launch the auction the week of May 16.
For the auction to be successful, we need YOUR help. We're asking every parent to solicit at least TWO auction items. This could include a gift certificate from a favorite restaurant, museum, theater or other tourist spot. Experiences, especially ones that connect with our students' artistic work, would be valuable as well. AND if you have a talent that you could share with the community, that could become an auction item as well. Are you an editor or writer who is willing and able to edit a college essay? Provide audition critique? Provide a vocal lesson or an hour in a recording studio? Or could a student shadow you if your job is in a related field? Could you offer backstage access or some other unique experience?
Be creative! Be thoughtful! And please be generous!
We've created a sample solicitation letter geared toward businesses that might be willing to donate, and a form for all submissions. If you need additional material, please reach out to us at: lagauction2022@gmail.com. If you have particular connections within the arts or in the industry, please reach out and we can help you create a special experience that could become a particularly valuable auction item.
